AV Meiyappan Started his own film studio in Karaikudi in 1946. The film "Nam Iruvar" produced by him ran for Silver Jublee. In 1948 AVM Studios moved to Vadapalani, Chennai. Started with single floor, AVM Studios increased the area to nine floors- an outstanding achievement.
AVM studios has a all facilities for film production and television serials with state of art recoding, dubbing editing and preview theaters for both pre and post production.It also has out-doored sets covering houses, row of streets, bus-stand, police station, lawns etc. to have all shooting facilities under one roof.
In addition AVM has very large fully air-conditioned shooting floors, makeup rooms, special materials for erecting any type of in-door sets with adequate lighting facilities, carpentry and molding machinery.
